Our Law Firm is located in Nyack, New York. Nyack is a busy suburban town approximately 20 miles north of Manhattan on the western shore of the Hudson River in Rockland County adjacent to the Tappan Zee Bridge and New York State Thruway.

Our Staff consists of one attorney, and a supervising paralegal and one administrative assistant.

William A. Cember is the principal of the firm and has been practicing commercial and retail litigation and collection since 1991. He previously was employed by the Bronx County District Attorney's Office from 1986-1991 where he tried over 15 felony jury trials and supervised the “complaint room.”

M. Nathan Cember is the founder of the firm and had been practicing as a retail and commercial collection attorney in Nyack since 1969. He had been one of the preeminent collection attorneys in the New York metropolitan area since that time. He retired in 1999.

Deborah Scott is the supervising paralegal and has been employed at Cember & Cember, P.C since 1999.

EQUIPMENT - The firm has a fully automated computer collection system for both accounting for payments, remittances and status reports as well as all necessary legal documents and correspondence. We also have high speed internet access, fax, scanner and the ability to import and export from one collection system to another. We also draw credit reports and other asset reports to aid in finding skips as well as finding places of employment and possible assets.

HOURS - The firm is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am. to 5:00 p.m. with full staff. We also have limited hours on a case by case basis on Saturdays. We are open by appointment at any hour of the day, if necessary.

DISBURSEMENTS AND COSTS - The firm incurs all costs, i.e. postage, copying, overnight mail etc. of the collection actions. The client incurs all disbursements, i.e. index number fees, service fees, sheriffs fees, etc.

FEES - We can handle collection accounts on either a contingency or flat fee arrangement, depending on your needs. Please call to discuss our fees which are flexible depending on volume and type of account.

PHILOSOPHY - Our philosophy is to analyze the debtor's apparent assets carefully, be aggressive, be firm, be dignified, and use the right amount of pressure for each individual case.
